Experienced in mother-baby and postpartum care.
Summer began her nursing career in mother-baby and postpartum care at Memorial Central hospital before joining the Nurse Family Partnership team at UCCS. As her fourth career, her nursing journey began at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Baltimore pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing.
Prior to nursing, Summer started dancing early in life and continued with a performance and teaching career in ballet, jazz, musical theater, cultural dances, and hip hop.
Her first degree in exercise physiology from the University of Utah led to work in the field of physical therapy, while continuing to dance and teaching dance. Due to life as a military spouse and frequent moves, she completed her Master of Art in Teaching in Oklahoma at Cameron University. Certified in composite sciences, dance, and health, she taught at the high school level in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and Maryland.
She has two beautiful daughters and a patient husband, along with a goofy loyal lab and an old English bulldog at home.
