Amy Temte is a graduate student in the Health Promotion program. She is a mother of two adult girls and a grandmother of two. When Amy started at UCCS, she was finishing a bachelor’s that she started two decades before, but then found her niche after taking Health Coaching with Gina Burton. Amy completed her Health and Wellness Coaching Certification and completed additional training through Real Balance Global Wellness.
As a non-traditional student, Amy brings many years of experience and life knowledge to Peer Health Coaching at UCCS. She has overcome many health issues in her life including quitting a 25-year-smoking habit and coming off a heavy sugar addiction. Amy understands how difficult behavior change can be and that there is no “one-size-fits-all” formula to follow. She wants to help others with navigating their personal health journeys and finding their “why” behind both positive and negative behaviors.
Amy plans to sit for the board examination through National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) sometime next year.
